Depentra 4.1: budget approvals, join codes, and a faster Gantt

Depentra 4.1 is rolling out to all customers this week. Here is what is new.

Budget approvals

Budget changes above a configurable threshold now enter an approval queue. Pending changes are visible in the Budget view with a distinct indicator but do not affect calculated totals until a Programme Manager approves them. Every decision is captured in the dedicated Budget Audit Log.

Join codes and invitation links

Project Leaders can now generate shareable invitation links or six-character join codes, each with a configurable access level, expiry, and usage limit. Invitees see the project name, leader, and access level before accepting. Plan validation runs server-side at the moment of joining.

Column renaming

Every project team has its own vocabulary. Double-click any column header in the task table to rename it for your project. Custom names flow through to list view and all exports, while formulas and filters keep working against the underlying field.

Performance

The Gantt rendering engine was rewritten to virtualise both rows and time columns. A 600-task programme now renders in under a second on a standard laptop, and delay propagation updates the chart, impact matrix, and total float in under 500 milliseconds.

Also in this release: propagated delay indicators in Board view, and 14 fixes. See the full changelog for details.
